Professional Bio
Dr. Wang Jinjun, is currently the President of Southwest University (SWU), China. He is a distinguished professor in entomology in China. He obtained his PhD in Entomology from Southwest Agricultural University (Now SWU) in 1997. He is a leading scientist of the innovation talent promotion plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a scientist in the National Modern Citrus Industry Technology System. He has outstanding academic influence in the field of agricultural entomology and pest control, especially for molecular ecology study on the insecticide resistance, rapid ecological adaptation and behaviors of the invasive tephritid flies, such as Bactrocera dorsalis and Zeugodacus cucurbitae. 

Professor Wang has made prominent contributions to the successful construction of the first pest-free zone of citrus and ensured the sustainable and healthy development of the citrus industry in China. He has been the principal investigator of over 50 research projects. In addition, he serves as an editorial board member and editor of several international and national journals, including Pest Management Science, Insect Molecular Biology. He has published more than 200 peer reviewed papers on PNAS, Annual Review of Entomology, BMC Biology, PloS Genetics, and Communications Biology. He also holds over ten patents. Based on his outstanding contributions in this field, he has won ten science and technology awards at provincial and ministerial levels.
